Why, hello and welcome to hellokaij! We decided to start this blog to document the things we love and to share them with you. Jonathan and I are newly weds, but don’t get us wrong…we’ve been together since 2005! According to Mr. Kaiju, this is how we met:
In the Fall of 2005, Hurricane Rita threatened the Texas coast, sending thousands of evacuees inland to Austin, Texas. Little did Teresa and Jonathan guess that this natural disaster would trigger a most serendipidous chain of events.
Hosting a dozen evacuees in his cramped college apartment, Jonathan decided to stage an evacuation of his own and uncharacteristically went to the pool for some peace and quiet. He found no such luck as half of the pool was being occupied by what must have been a typical sight. On the other end, however, sitting on the edge of the pool, was our female protagonist, the lovely Teresa. She was intently studying Genetics, a class he had taken the previous semester.
It was wind that ultimately played matchmaker- a hurricane sized one, and a smaller gust of just the right speed and velocity that carried her homework into his fortunate hand. Who can say whether this is proof of destiny, or just an amazing coincidence? Regardless, they’re glad it happened. So is Penguin, who made his unexpected arrival a year later!
